Alice Burns graduated BA Hons Fine and Applied Art with First Class Honours, University of Ulster in 2010. An emerging artist, conversant in a range of fine and applied art disciplines, curating and project management. Active in the Free Art Movement and the Ards Art Collective. She is currently exhibiting work in Belfast, Banbridge, New Zealand, Bangor and Brazil. Curated a highly successful exhibition by international Artists, on the Belfast Barge in February 2011 and Emerging v Established in August 2010 in Belfast.

Memory is central to Burns’ work, in concept, research and innovative processes. Work in progress, Memory Experiment #1 this work examines the process of memory and realising this as a visual artwork that resides between Art and the Ethnographic. This quote holds some significance for her work,
"art can function as a critique of existing culture and as a locus where futures not otherwise possible can begin to shape themselves" Susan Hiller
